Jay -Z millionaire for more taxes.

Just saw this on CNN. Further proof that there are rich with a conscious. Hip Hop artist and millionaire Jay Z says he'd be willing to pay higher taxes to pay for "things that matter" like health care and education.

But those uber libertarians don't get it. When millionaires like John Stewart, and Stephen Cobert, and even billionaires like Warren Buffet say "somethings wrong" the rest of the corporate world has no excuse. We are not talking about people who are communist or socialists. We are talking about people who benefit from the same open market the fear mongers on the right use to make their money.

This is NOT a left or right issue. It is however a monopoly issue and a class warfare issue. It was a class war started on the middle class and working poor that started 30 years ago. Those policies have exploded the cost of living and pay gap and health care costs while profits are bigger than ever, without regards to how they make that money.

No folks, no more, no more lies and no more bullshit about the laziness of the middle and poor. The lie is being exposed and the monopoly of corporate power will end.

The 99% will win because we outnumber those who have created this monopoly. The world will not end and the rich will still be rich despite the bullshit lie that the rest of us are trying to rob them.

So my advice to those with the money and the power, start caring. But either way you will not win long term. And despite what you might think, the world will not end when we do win.

If the people above who WHO ARE RICH can do it, you can too. You have no excuse.

ENOUGH!

Sounds appealing, but too friggen cold during the winter for me. Plus some of your political correctness bothers me. Not to sure how much of what I say here could be said there. You're country did briefly arrest a preacher for condemning gays by quoting Laviticus. I simply don't think thought police through government is the way to handle dicks like that.

Plus I've lived here my entire life and I do think there are enough people who care enough to fix it. I haven't lost hope yet.

If we end up looking like Tijuana then I would have no choice, but I don't think with what is going on in the streets in the form of protests, that will happen.

Now if Newt gets elected President the only thing that would stop him from completely pushing our economy over the cliff which it is currently teetering on, would be if the Republican majority in the house flipped so that the congress was all a majority dem. But if Newt becomes president and the congress becomes a majority to the right, then hold tight and look out.

I don't think that will happen, but so far, at least right now, I am hopeful because there are lots of protesters, far too many for our government to ignore, not even the right can ignore them.

Plus your comedians are not as funny as ours..........(ducks from the rotten tomatos)

What people say and what

What people say and what they actually believe are two entirely different things. If these rich really want there money to go for helping the poor, there are much more effective means than all the waste and bureaucracy of government. These people you mention are all public figures, so what they say is measured to keep them popular with the unwashed masses.

If they really cared they would just give their money to charity, they only care about their popularity.

Higher taxes on the rich just means they move their money offshore and into tax shelters and fewer jobs.

Taxation is the price we pay for failing to build a civilized society. The higher the tax level, the greater the failure. A centrally planned totalitarian state represents a complete defeat for the civilized world, while a totally voluntary society represents its ultimate success. --Mark Skousen

As it seems that the waste and bureaucracy are benefiting the wealthier people don't expect it to go away.

American reports of Canadian winters are greatly exaggerated. We agree with it because it makes you look like pussies. Eye-wink

Also, you look at the things I say and tell me you'd have a problem here speaking your mind. Sticking out tongue

about as much of a reason as we should give the same amount to Grover Norquist.

Is there any reason you don't give a rats ass about anyone but yourself?

You so desperately want to think that what you do as an individual has no affect on the people around you and then yous stupidly try to apply that logic to an entire economy with diverse people living in it and running it as if it were simply a machine.

You want to make this about individuals when I am talking about CLIMATE and attitude. No matter what you think what you do DOES affect others. And no matter what you think you cannot do everything by yourself. That is physically impossible.

Get this through your head. I WANT everyone to have an education. HS at a minimum with maximum good grades in math and science and civics, but even better if everyone has my education. You are stupid to say you want the same when you are unwilling to do a fucking thing yourself to help.

THE PAY GAP is what is preventing progress. The monopoly of big money and lack of private investment is what is causing the inequality. So if you are not going to do anything privately to help out others then don't bitch when those people turn to government for help. If you don't want them doing that, then get off your ass and invest in the community yourself and stop bitching.

The middle class and working poor ARE NOT lazy. But if your attitude is "why should I give a fuck about you" We can do the same at the voting booth. It is our country, not yours, OURS. WE live in it and WE decide how things go. If you wreck the car and someone else competes for the drivers seat, that is the price of living in a free society.

Your balls wont fall off if you invest in your workers. You wont become poor if you live off less. I am sick of your bullshit "let them eat cake" crap.

BOO HOO, daddy daddy I don't like it when the peasants get uppity. Why cant they just be happy with the crumbs and welfare they already get.

GO AMERICA GO GO GO lets work hard to make poverty grow. Lets get rid of the government all together so we can look like Somalia. Lets build the sweat shops like they do in India and China. It will be sooooo great because shareholders and CEOs don't have to worry about failure because they can simply dump their losses on us.

YOUR dream of America and what it can be is vile bullshit and I hope you never get what you want.

Sorry it frightens you that I vote too. But I can and I will and I will not stop fighting your selfish short sighted and simplistic  mentality.

I like you as a person outside this issue, but as passionately as you try to defend your side, I will defend mine. I have confidence in the future and from what I see in the streets, you wont win long term. But you are needlessly scaring yourself buying into your idea of economics.

Why should you care? Because the less poverty the more stability. The less people on the government dime the less regulation is required. The more investment in the worker the greater the stability of the society.

The trend over the past 30 years was to cut labor as a default. That destroys stability. Our middle class and pay gap was less in trouble and was built after WW2 with a higher tax rate and we had even smaller government than we do now. Education at the college level was virtually free. The government's investments in highways, electric grids and damns was money given by the government through our taxes that went to private contractors to build those things that built our middle class and kept the pay gap lower.

Everything the policies after World War 2 that built our strong economy has been shit on by the last 30 years of your mindset's thinking.

Right and agreed. That is merely blackmail, hardly worth the fear.

That thinking was not always the case and does not have to be the case. There is a difference between "cant" and "don't want to". They can, they just don't want to.

I wont cave into that mentality out of fear. When it gets bad enough even this mindset will be affected to the point where they will have to care, or not have anyone to buy what they sell.  What will they do then?

It is no different than over tilling a field, if you simply extract and do nothing to maintain the crop and soil the field becomes baron. That is the economy we have now.

There are many people I care very much about. Jay-Z isn't one of them.

Personally, I work to alleviate poverty and I can point to specific individuals who make well above poverty wages because of me. Can you do the same?

If, if a white man puts his arm around me voluntarily, that's brotherhood. But if you - if you hold a gun on him and make him embrace me and pretend to be friendly or brotherly toward me, then that's not brotherhood, that's hypocrisy.- Malcolm X

And when people want to take your ideas and others to alleviate poverty for the country it pisses you off. why?
