Happy Birthday to BobSpence

Happy Birthday to you Bob. I always love to read your posts. You really have given me alot of educational tips and good information since I have been here.

I'll just go back to the fridge and grab another beer for you. I'll look forward to more of your wisdom in the future.

Aww, shucks, thanks a lot,

Aww, shucks, thanks a lot, peeps.

I do enjoy trying to put my insights out there for others to (possibly) benefit from, insights I have gathered over a lifetime of studying, reading and listening to other people, observing a wide sampling of the world we inhabit, often directly via travel ( shut up Brian37, I make no apologies for pulling a 'Higgins' ).

It is a major part of what gives me 'meaning' and 'purpose'.

I already had comments which indicated various members of the forum found my stuff interesting and helpful, but is nice to have it put so explicitly...

Happy belated birthday. I

Happy belated birthday. I have always benefited from your vast knowledge of the Universe.

“A meritocratic society is one in which inequalities of wealth and social position solely reflect the unequal distribution of merit or skills amongst human beings, or are based upon factors beyond human control, for example luck or chance. Such a society is socially just because individuals are judged not by their gender, the colour of their skin or their religion, but according to their talents and willingness to work, or on what Martin Luther King called 'the content of their character'. By extension, social equality is unjust because it treats unequal individuals equally.” "Political Ideologies" by Andrew Heywood (2003)
