Raising children Agnostic

Raising children Agnostic

I have a 5 and 3 year old daughters whom I am raising with a generalized take on all religions.  I tried explaining being agnostic to a 5 year old and this is what came out, it works for now!

 

God is a lot like Santa Claus and Magic, when people are young you tend to believe in it because it makes you feel good and you have no way of rationalizing these things.  When you get older you tend to see things better for what they really are so you can have a viewpoint...

 

I think she understands a little better for now, as for my 3 year old she thinks people turn into zombies when they die, I am just going to go with that for now, lol!

 

 

Here is something cute my 5 year old said a few months ago to her baby-sitter's daughter....  The little girl was talking about how her grandpa was in heaven with Jesus..  Well my daughter chimed back, "My daddy says Jesus turns people into robots!!"  I wasn't there to hear it but I would have loved to see the look on every ones faces.  Kids say the cutest things Smiling!

Lol, that is funny. Almost makes me want to have kids. I don't know how you keep yourself from teaching them to say all sorts of fun things then letting them loose on a Sunday school but you are probably nicer than I am.
