Old dogma, new text

I'm relatively new to the RRS pages and am glad to have found them. I know I'm not alone in my beliefs but it sure feels like it sometimes. (What? YOU are a catholic? Practicing? REALLY?) Just last month I was prostheletised by a man studying to be a preacher through "distance learning". It was a little like trying to push back a donkey, just getting him to leave me alone. I only got any sympathy from folks at work because he was rather a Know-It-All in ALL subjects, and therefore annoyed just about everyone else.
Anyway, to introduce myself, I'm almost 40, married to a wonderful woman who doesn't NOT believe in a god/goddess/supreme being of some sort and am a stubborn ol' agnostic with atheistic tendencies. ("Well, if there IS a god, I know it ain't like YOURS".) And, I like to capitalise and use quotations a lot. Hey, just be glad I'm on the wagon with the smilies!
