I wouldn't worry about them.

I wouldn't worry about them. The economy is bad for everyone so I am quite sure that they have jobs outside this website so that they can feed themselves have a roof over their heads.

As far as traffic at this site, I think it is the same for most message boards of any stripe. Facebook, Myspace and Twitter are clobbering old school message boards.

I think you need to keep in mind HOW Brian and Kelly, and those before, like Infidel Guy and Jake, and organizations like FFRF and American Atheists and Internet Infidels, all have made their individual contributions to put a foothold on society for atheists. THAT is what is important. I doubt that Hitchens or Dawkins could have sold as well , at least in the states, if it hadn't been for the underground voices prior.

Because of Brian and Kelly's passion for opening the door for other atheists, we have it better than we did 8 years ago.

No longer can society get away with silencing atheists or demonizing us.

In whatever way, you can count on Brian being a part of the atheist voice. I wouldn't worry about Brian or Kelly, I am sure they are doing fine, just busy.

Well I'm here. The last thing I remember Rook writing was "I know it'll probably be the end of the RRS, but I'm making Will a moderator."

Hmm.

Also, that avatar picture is adorable.

Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by.  Yeah... pretty much what

Yeah... pretty much what everybody else said.  It's kind of difficult to spend 40 hours a week running a board when you're working 60 hours a week to pay bills, and that's pretty much what everybody's doing now.

Not saying I'm original, but look at the date, Bub. [edit]In fact, there's a lot of 2006'ers around.

I still read what I consider to be insightful and disregard that which merits indifference. Exception, this post.

Love ya. Mean it.

Some of what we've been up

Some of what we've been up to...

Kelly is doing more modeling type work, here she is on the cover of a new book:

Here is Rooks new book:

And I'm now working 45+ hours a week at an outside of RRS job.  I miss spending time with everyone here, and can't wait for the day that I can make this my number one focus again.

First off what does "WTG" mean?

Secondly, are you using a friggin I-Max screen for your monitor? I cant see the color difference.

Admittedly though I am very angry at that sign. STUPID SIGN!

It does seem like a bummer

It does seem like a bummer though that no-one is around driving the site.  I see lots of stuff around the site that seems to show it used to be far more 'alive'.

But there don't seem to be any atheist sites that are very active beyond relatively small groups of regulars.  Have I missed any?

Am sure it's a normal part

Of the ebb and flow of people's lives and interests. There's that whole survival of the fittest thing going on at the moment

which if you've got a nest of chicks is going to be a dominating factor. Groups tend to feed off each other, too.

Guess it makes room for the younger generation. Here that Luminon? Perhaps your time has come...

Glad to hear about Brian and Kelly

Glad to hear that Brian found some spare time to say Hello. I pretty much had the feeliing that he and Kelly are working their buns off these days.

Nice to see Kelly keeping busy, although I wish she was doing something predominantly with her brains rather than her body. She is an intelligent woman who could do anything.

Getting off my soapbox, I hope to see Kelly and Brian again soon here at the RRS.

Sort of.  The book he was creating with that research hasn't been written yet.  He was I think about 100 pages through it and had to rework so much of it, along with a bunch of other variables related to the historians who were helping him that the book got put on the backburner.  I suggested to him that he should at least piece together a book out of much of the stuff he's written online and stuff he had saved.  A collection of historical stories if you will.  That's the premise of this book, it was just something to get it out there.  He took it a little further than my original concept, but it's not exactly the book he's been trying to write.

With that said, I'm not sure he'd have a problem with sending you a signed copy.  Do you have a facebook account?  He's there under "Tom Verenna"  Also you could e-mail him, I know he has copies, and I know he appreciated all the support.

FWIW: The book he was trying to write with the books provided for research would retail between $50-150 and completed would've been about as big as a dictionary.  And when it's done, I bet he'd give you a copy of that as well.
