A promising week: Pakistan to annihilate the Taliban / Al Qaeda in South Waziristan
Offline ...They already smashed the Taliban in a surprise offensive, effectivetly reducing support for them to zero within their own borders, and are now poised to rip the guts out of what's left of them in South Waziristan; the de facto 'home turf' of Al Qaeda and Taliban sympathizers. 'Good news' doesn't give this development enough justice - with Hamas (literally) being put to the torch by the IDF earlier this year (even if I do not agree with the method used to do so), Hizbullah (I'd been spelling that wrong for ages and had no idea until reading BBC coverage of the Iran protests) stretching itself thin attempting to lend support to Ahmedinejad's government, and now the imminent decimation of an extremely large portion of two notorious theocratic syndicates, we just might be on the verge of seeing the impossible: a Persian Gulf that is turning it's back on radical religious fundamentalists. It's a reverse perfect storm of sorts.
Hamby, if you'd like to set your eyes on a population of moderates that really are fed up and really are pissed off, for now, you need look no further than Iran. 
If those guys want to go kneel in a Mosque after they've thrown Ahmedinejad out on his ass and pray to a make believe deity, fuck, I'll throw 'em that bone (...for a little while, anyway. )
As the icing on the cake, the is a very tangible chance that Osama Bin Laden may very well find himself caught in the offensive. South Waziristan has certainly been a hideout of choice for him in the past, and while I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, it's hardly out of the question that that's where he's camping out as we speak. For those who happen to be keeping score, if ol' Binny does happen to get dragged out of the area (preferably in shackles, though I can't say I'll be heartbroken if it's in a toe tag instead), I'm calling the game. Obama wins, about one million to nothing.

Yes, indeed this is good news. The only thing is that I would prefer not to see Ossama with a toe tag. That would empower his followers to declare him a martyr. Much better would be if the soldiers who find him have the same evil streak that I do and the force him into a burkha with the face part ripped for a nice photo op of him “hiding like a woman”.
Done that way, we can throw him in deep solitary confinement for the rest of his miserable days and never make a big deal when he finally does die. Hell but when his time comes, he should be buried in the local potter's field so that not even his grave gets tagged.
Also, I would note that I happen to live close enough to NYC that the local paper took weeks to print out all the obituaries and I spent the whole morning trying to get through to my father as he lived less than a mile from the pentagon. When I finally did get through to him, he told me that he felt the impact geologically but at first, he thought that a truck had hit the wall of his parking garage (which apparently happens often enough for him to know what that is like).
All that considered, if he does have to be executed, I will volunteer (yah, I know there will have to a lottery to see who gets the job) as long as I can take him out from the feet up with a 15 watt soldering iron.

Eh, live or die, caught or free... both are equally good, and bad. Theres many positives and negatives with each. Doesnt matter which way the coin flips, the issue will be handled poorly by all involved, if history and common sense tell me anything...

Honestly, my ultimate fantasy would be seeing him somehow tried and convicted in Denmark and given the maximum sentence there (15 years). It would take the fight right out of him, and his followers would be disillusioned. Incredible damage would be done to Al Qaeda, though at the expense of our thirst for retribution not being quenched.

I agree with you on that. The whole thing is already a huge fuck-up and no matter what the next week brings us, it will remain a huge fuck-up.
Let's say that we find his grave because he died last week from cholera. So he never sees the justice that he deserves. That would be fucked up.
Second possibility what I noted above. He comes out with a toe tag. Even if he died from cholera, he will be listed as having died in combat and therefore he is a martyr to the very people who will cause the next several huge fuck-ups.
Third is my other idea of finding him alive and we put him in a burkha for the photo-op. Then we put him in a cell deeper that Hannibal Lechter was in at the beginning of Silence of the Lambs, only to bury him in a potter's field several years from now. He will get his justice and not be a martyr. That is still a fuck up for his side.
Fourth is that he is found alive and ultimately executed. Again, he is still a martyr and that is fucked up. Am still going to stand in line to off the fucker with a low wattage soldering iron from the feet up. Allowing for me to take rest breaks, I predict that it will take me a couple of days to work my way up to some abdominal organ that he cannot live without (liver or pancreas would be my guess). Still fucked up.
If we do get him alive, I would also put him in a cell with a pig and an IV of viagra while we are waiting to see what we do end up doing with him.

Chaotic is always better because you get to do more stuff. Several years ago, I was in a WOT MUD and I was the most evil male channeler in the whole world. I got into a battle with the second most evil dude (who had a higher rank because he had been game longer than I had) and he flipped a gasket over something fairly minor and left the game completely.
Too damned bad because I had arranged special dispensation from the Dark Amyrlin to declare snow to be subject to Earth Power so that I could throw snow balls at him. Thousands and thousands of snow balls. It would have been fucking epic.
As far as the Vin Diesel thing, most of his characters are C?E. Just saying.
