Anybody in this group called Faith?

I ask because my name Poisson in French means Fish, and I cringe everytime I see one of these Jesus fishes pasted on a car...  I wonder what it does to be an atheist called Faith.

Well, how hard is it to get

Well, how hard is it to get it legally changed where you are?  Since you have a thing for fish, you could have it changed to sea-lion.  They eat quite a lot of fish.  You would also get bonus points every time you had a chance to introduce yourself in english.  "No, that really is my name.  Want to see my ID?"

I like my name

I have no plan to change my name just because I cringe once in a while - we don't get that many jesus fishes in Quebec...

Plus, in French it's a name that is easily recalled (useful for someone who claims to be an artist) because it means something real and simple that everybody knows.  And I like the fact that the Skeleton Fish represents atheism and evolution in some ironic way.

I would never associate the

I would never associate the name Faith with a religious conviction of any intensity on the part of its owner, no more than I would assume every John I met obsessed constantly about shit disposal and flushed on demand. Faith to me is simply a continued trust in someone or something, an admirable human quality when founded on just cause, I find.

If I happened to meet a blind Faith of course then that might be different.

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

Well said Nordmann, I agree.

Another last name, commmon in Quebec is Chrétien ( litterally "Christian" )  I believe it aslo exists in its English form.

"Hi! My name is Faith Christian and I'm an atheist."

If only I could be lucky enough to have that name, could have so much fun with it
