Wow. Just. ...wow.

Leave it to the bibble belt to support  something like this.

I guess the 'haunted trail' format is easily converted to xtianity?

Who knew.

Weird they don't really

Weird they don't really explain what it is. Not much different in concept from those "Hell Houses" the fundie churches have had for years.

PorkChop--

--just about anything that gains any level of popularity can, and will, be used by Christians as a pretext for preaching.  Consider:

"Weird Al" Yankovic--------Mark Lowery

Haunted Houses at Halloween--------Hell Houses, same time of year

Secular rock/pop--------Christian rock/pop

Secular stand-up comedians------Brad Stine

Secular novels, made into movies------Left Behind

T-shirts, based on secular ideas (e.g., Tide detergent)------T-shirst punning

about those same ideas (i.e., "Washed in the Tide" shirts)

Consider that almost any topic can be, and has been, turned into a religious discussion by the person who was waiting for their "opportunity."  That one take-off (Hell Houses) seems to have spawned another (Tribulation Trails) does not surprise me in the least.  Indeed, it seems to be Standard Operating Procedure.

This is really screwed up.

This is really screwed up. The Haunted House of Jesus.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, | As I foretold you, were all spirits, and | Are melted into air, into thin air; | And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, | The cloud-capped towers, the gorgeous palaces, | The solemn temples, the great globe itself, - Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, | And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, | Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff | As dreams are made on, and our little life | Is rounded with a sleep. - Shakespeare

holy fucking shit, i am in on that.  i should be in the states in december.  i can bring along my buddies, a bunch of kentucky boys with nothing but contempt for the church and little to live for beyond whiskey, beer, and black and milds.  we will fuck that shit up.

"I have never felt comfortable around people who talk about their feelings for Jesus, or any other deity for that matter, because they are usually none too bright. . . . Or maybe 'stupid' is a better way of saying it; but I have never seen much point in getting heavy with either stupid people or Jesus freaks, just as long as they don't bother me. Oh, it'll be long gone by December, but we wholeheartedly encourage your fucking up shit in Kentucky.

Hell takes a one month hiatus in December when Jeebus is the (lack of) reason for the season. They applied for a longer sabbatical, but were denied.

I can see it now, boys.  If we went to this thing with a flask it would all start innocently enough...you guys would be spewing comments that the yokles would not understand.  THEN, one guy that went to Fight the Atheist Seminary would 'catch on' and then we would all three become incarcerated in Deliverance land to never be heard from again.

I don't know that I can participate...and I'd hate to lose you boys...I'm quite fond of both of you!

Don't worry.  I'll bring a gun or two.  Everything will be just fine.

no, no...see, this is why you need a kentucky boy along.  i know how to speak their language.  i can speak hillbilly, redneck, country folk, and numerous other dialects, as well as their religious variations: baptist, methodist, pentecostal, christian (yes, there is a "christian" denomination, very popular in eastern ky; i grew up in that church).  i can even speak a little louisiana catholic if need be.  oh, and jehovah's witness.  my grandmother was a jehovah's witness, so i got that covered too.

i'm like a bible belt C3PO.

In South Carolina we find that the click a Colt Python's hammer makes is something of a universal language throughout the Bible Belt.

Well, you do know the Feds made most of the isotopes for our nuclear weapons stockpile right on the Savannah River, don't you?  Consequently, everything is huge and mutated and stupid, especially the people.
