I didn't know Atheists liked having 'official' things...but I know I likes me some Eddie Izzard!
Eddie is a hoot, but if we have to have a comedic mascot, I nominate Lewis Black.

Christianity: A disgusting middle eastern blood cult, based in human sacrifice, with sacraments of cannibalism and vampirism, whose highest icon is of a near naked man hanging in torment from a device of torture.
I like Eddie Izzard, he's funny.

OK, well he can be the unofficial comedian of atheism then.
He's on tour in the U.S. right now, and I have tickets to see him later this month.
Nobody I know was brainwashed into being an atheist.
Why Believe?
I loves me some Eddie Izzard!
I was just playing. Not really picking on you, Geirj
He actually came to Atlanta within the last month. I heard about it the day after. I wish I had only known.
Funny routine.
There are also other great clips of his work so if you liked this
Google/search engine/u tube and yes, he'd be a great official
comedian of atheism.... though I noted his fly was open.
Now, is there a comedienne ?
How about Doug Stanhope? ...he's mildly amusing in a dying Pope kind of way.

Let's not have an "official"
Let's have the best of everyone - here's a few that Americans mightn't be too familiar with but shone (and shine) the light for many of us on the other side of the pond, gleaned from a quick trawl through YouTube:
Dave Allen

Ricky Gervais

Billy Connolly

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
THANKS Nord - "and loads more ... if anyone's interested" /////
YES, very interested. I have a growing 'Atheist Comedy' folder that I regularly e-mail as I add to it .....
