yeah, Rook is a friend of humanity, and a friend of my god of Me and You and IT and Everything ..... "God of (abe) Is Not Great", but I AM ! So when I stink , it's all in the name of evolution, doing it's godly thing ..... Got perfume ? ..... "smells good" ..... ( Hamby wrote about smell )
, btw, read all Hamby's cool essays. Be extra nice to yourselves.

How much longer will it take to "save" the Christians etc ? Jesus tried, but failed for the most part ..... the Devil is tough ! Killing him is hard "blessed" work , and so in the name of fun and love I AM a dedicated ATHEIST.
KIll god of abe now , in the name of love ..... YOU .
I've noticed that lately I am making perfect sense out of IAMGAY's posts. I'm not sure if I should be concerned about this development or not.
Evolution Rocks ..... it's me !
Now kill the "old me" and move further ahead ! But where are we going ???
Words are a bitch , our language is words. I got a word for ya, GOD !

"Don't stand beside my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die."
Just out of curiosity, why is it IAMGAY and not IAGAY?
Actually I was wondering that myself.I just went with the common consensus.

hmmmm.....the jokes i could make from that one.
IAMGAY VS. IAGAY .....interesting stuff.
correct me if i am wrong but int the proper way to shorten something to a series of letters to leave am, it, or ,etc. as only one letter. not the whole word.

We actually had the iamgay discussion in another thread a few months ago. I don't think our Buddha friend has a preference either way though as his sexual orientation seems pretty clear.
Rook is a great thinker, to override beyond warm and fuzzies of theistic dogma and he has the history to back it up.

I AM, just had to say,
"reading" me is not always easy for me as well ..... I just can't get a good handle on any of this ..... you know , the NOW ! the WHY ! the HOW ! ..... but I promise you all, I AM only trying to help .....
God of abe is certainly not helping !
, except as a lesson of 'more our stupid' ..... than smarts ..... I love the 'A' Team ! Heal the others ..... as big J philosophy reads ..... an A + idea ..... and thanks very much Rook ..... you is A plus ..... in my "good" book of records .....
I came across this website,
http://www.bede.org.uk/jesusmyth.htm
The dude toutes these verses, written by Paul, that "show" specific references to Jesus in the writings1. The author claims that these verses help the case for a more historical Jesus within Paul's writings.
Is their a mythicist explanation for these? If these verses are answered for in another thread or essay, could anyone point me there? If this is small potatoes then 'my bad', I have only been reading about mythicism for less than a month. Thanks.
What can be asserted without proof can be dismissed without proof. -Christopher Hitchens
Yeah.
Paul was not a contemporary of Jesus. These quotes actually support mythicism, since Paul never bothers to tell us about any outside corroboration that has since turned up, or has any historicity.
If you want to get more specific, Paul's writings appear to be representative of a dichotomy among early pre-Christian cults, where the earliest believed in a heavenly Jesus who didn't actually live on earth, and the later ones who extrapolated an actual person.
Furthermore, the reference to Peter is pretty meaningless, because the books attributed to Peter in the bible are not contemporary either.
As for all that other stuff, there's nothing compelling about any of it. Essentially, all it proves is that some of the biblical writers had read books by other writers and incorporated elements into their own books. We don't think it's particularly amazing that lots of people have written about King Arthur, after all. Only when you assume that people didn't read each other and copy does the bible appear to have any mystical significance.
