 Since before I was born,

Since before I was born, Quebec has been threatening to leave Canada. Suffice it to say that they have not. I can't imagine Scotland bothering, to tell you the truth. I mean, why?

Why wouldn't they want the association with the international wealth based in London? It's the only economic advantage that Great Britain has at this point. Those pointy-headed self-involved grass-tennis mincy-suit Eton boys are an undead moron army of investment bankers who give international clients a perverse nostalgia for the long-lost era of British dominance. Never mind that it's bullshit - the international community buys it.

Why would Scotland want to take itself out of the loop on all that trade?

Will: no gyration without funkstification.
