“A meritocratic society is one in which inequalities of wealth and social position solely reflect the unequal distribution of merit or skills amongst human beings, or are based upon factors beyond human control, for example luck or chance. Such a society is socially just because individuals are judged not by their gender, the colour of their skin or their religion, but according to their talents and willingness to work, or on what Martin Luther King called 'the content of their character'. By extension, social equality is unjust because it treats unequal individuals equally.” "Political Ideologies" by Andrew Heywood (2003)

Thanks.  I'm kind of proud of that tree, surprised more people didn't comment on it.  I'm still waiting for the first theist to make some comment about the tree being a symbol of Christmas.  It's not.  In fact it's forbidden in the bible.

Jeremiah 10

1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.

4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

My tree is a heathen tree.  Eye-wink

I think I've said it before, but I'll say it again, I love xmas for its ability to piss off both right wing christnuts and left wing anti-capitalists at the same time. I'll drink a shot to your heathen tree and I just might go give a few bucks to those capitalist heathens at amazon too.

Question: will appending

Yes Kapkao... as long as you've stripped the other "ref" reference.  Stripping the link down to the simplest form and appending it will work.  Also keep in mind that as long as you go to Amazon through any of the links anywhere on this page, and add something to your cart on that visit and purchase before leaving the site, we'll get credit.  Someone recently bought a $1,200 camera and the commission was $50!  Thanks to whoever bought the camera.

Every little bit helps.  Even small items help a lot because it puts us into a bonus level for selling more items.  You can even buy groceries!

Every little bit is going to help us get the server we need, and hire the help we need to hire.
