Fishdontwalk have we decreated a creationist site?

On March 14th this year in the ninth episode of The Rational Response Squad radio show we hosted a creationist on our show named Bill Morgan who owns a website known as Fishdontwalk.com. We brought Bill Morgan on the show because while in a discussion on a myspace Christian group someone posed Bills fishdontwalk.com as an example of proof that evolution doesn't ocurr and that the answer to the problem of life is "god did it." With a brief look at Bills site we saw gaping holes and flaws, and knew right away that there was a ton of material to debunk. Yellow Number Five (Mike) got our science geeks on the case to debunk Fishdontwalk right away.

Here are some threads that examine and refute fishdontwalk.com:

Neocons or Theocons and the spread of Jihad.

Ok, it's left of larry's rant time.

This administration continues to lie cheat and steal to propagandize an ideology that is completely and foundationally flawed. Their ideology is antithetical to the most foundational ideas of a free democracy and the United States Constitution. Thomas Jefferson and the rest of the great fathers are spinning in their grave.

Why do they do this then? The reason is simple. Money and Power. The ideologies of the neocons reside within a selfish, money driven system that uses religion, corruption, stealing, cheating and even murder to achieve what neocons percieve as the Straussian hegemonic wet dream. I am not communist, however, it is ironic to me that the staunchest neocons will tell me that communism will never work because of human nature's intrinsic inevitablity that it will be corrupted. Well guess what, corruption seems to be the standard in our system of governance and economy. Corruption...human nature....I say stop hiding behind cop outs and straw man arguments. I don't claim to have an answer, but at least be honest with yourselves.

orgasms are bad but mutilation isn't?

The argument goes something like this: it is wrong to subject children to information about sexuality or to engage them in sexual activity, yet it is perfectly acceptable to take an infant male and mutilate his penis.

It was Queen Elizabeth that first presented the idea that there should be an age at which children should be kept from sexual activity. The reasoning had little to do with ideas of protecting the child from harm and nothing whatsoever to do with morality. The law was set forth to protect a fathers property so that he could obtain a good price when he sold his daughter into marriage. Thus the age of consent was set at ten, since girls were often sold into marriage when they reached the age of eleven.

Prayer

Prayer is the placebo that religion gives for an illness it created.

convert or deconvert?

Is deconvert a word?

Well lets look at the word in which it comes from, convert.

"Don't Pray In Our School & I Won't Think In Your Church"

How can you stop some one from praying? That's like stopping some one from "swearing" in their mind. It doesn't bother anyone or make anyone feel better except themselves. Now, if you force your class to pray, then that's like forcing them to "swear".

Most everyone has words that offend them. For some it's a religious word. For some it's a sexual word.

Personally, I'm not going to stop anyone from saying anything. You can say your words and I'll say mine.

A short background

Well, I’ll tell you a quick story:

Last Saturday, I walked into 24-Hour Mexican food joint in Idaho. As I entered I heard a few hicks share a few comments about me with a few words that (I assume) were meant to be diminutives. As I walked past them again on my way out, I could tell they wanted a fight by the way they were half-whispering (half-yelling) words like “queer”. So as I opened the door for my friend, I turned to their table, waited for their attention, and then I pointed and winked at them.

As me and my friend were walking to the car (laughing quite boisterously) three of them came running out after us, but they were all talk. So I just gave them a little finger-twittling wave as I stepped into the car.

The Distance to Here

It was a replay in a lot of ways, a replay of the conversation that happened years ago, when I was 15 years old. My parents had cornered me, and my mother with a quivering voice and tear filled eyes, holding before her a book I had hidden in my room asked me "Sarah, do you believe in God?" At the time I was afraid, I was afraid of the consequences of my answer so I lied, "of course I do" I answered, "I'm just angry".

This time, when my mother asked if I believed in God I answered without pausing "Who's definition of God are you asking me about?" She didn't answer, so I pressed further "The traditional judeo christian version? Hell no. Not a chance."

I was interviewed by SSA about FreethinkingTeens.com

I was recently interviewed by the Secular Student Alliance podcast host, Allison Bates. I was asked to appear to speak about FreethinkingTeens.com, you'll find this short 20 minute interview informative.

You can stream the podcast at the homepage of the Secular Student Alliance or download it right here.

Pass it on to a teen or something.

Fodder for the mind (A reply back)

Right on !
Thanks for the reply.
I just hope the world lands in
a better place somehow soon;
I write my thoughts and feelings
so that………maybe it can help.

I'm not in the least bit religious
because of the nasty stuff that
it produces.
I got home from out of town late,
(or should I say early in the morning)
turned on the TV. and watched Sunday
morning mass.
I tune in every now and again to see
what new from of junk there spreading.
Today, (funny enough) was outright gay
bashing, and right after that was the typical
"If you don't believe in Jesus then your
