Atheists perform a DDoS with me! (Divine Denial of Service)

As you may already be aware, recently the Atheist Foundation of Australia and the Global Atheist Convention websites were the target of a significant DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, which began on Monday 19 October.

This is a call to all non-believers and advocates for freedom of speech to join us in a global co-ordinated minute of prayer with the aim of inundating God (in this context, the Christian god, God, as distinct from the Greek god, Zeus, the Egyptian god, Ra etc etc) with so many useless prayers that it causes his divineness to go offline as as result of our own DDOS ('Divine' Denial of Service).

The prayer minute will be at exactly 8pm (Eastern Standard Time) and 9am (Greenwich Mean Time) on Sunday 8 November 2009.

The prayer can be about anything you want (but say it as frequently as possible in the minute we have assigned to ensure DDOS is achieved) or to whomever god you want. Its mostly directed at the Christian god so as to ensure we don't get too many return to senders from other gods.

Thanks for the plug

Wow, thanks so much for spreading the message. Hope you can all join us in this strangely contradictory retaliation. If only all wars were fought with imaginary weapons like this.

It goes against my lack of religion to participate in this but

because it's a good cause I am willing to give it a go. Can we pick out another diety to intercede with Jesus or do we have to have direct links to the enemy?

It troubles me my scots ancestors worshipped river gods and forest gods I know nothing at all about - thanks to the roman empire and the catholic church.

Pricks.

It seems less and less silly to worship the environment given that it, rather than powerless fantasy beings, is what sustains us.

So - Gaia - lord of my fecund fusty compost heap, forgive them though they know just what they do...

My son and I have to go grocery shopping. We've decided to break out in hymn and thankfulness for what we don't have, but want.

I drew the line at his suggestion of putting on yarmulke 's(?) and kvetching at yahweh about prices. lol.

Thanks to all who participated. I think I can say without equivocation that our minute of prayer was a complete success. I have heard neither hide nor hare from God the last few days. This means that it was our efforts and ours alone that brought the big man down. Right?

Just to be sure I have been scanning through many christian sites and attending various prayer meetings and have also discovered that none of the prayers uttered there were answered either.

So rest assured that God is not just pretending for our sakes. Let that be a lesson to him to continue to leave us all alone to get on with it.

Let this also be a clear message to all the believers out there; that neither hate nor humour, meaningful prayer nor sarcastic prayer, doubt nor conviction, love nor hate has any meaningful impact on this entity. His silence remains as ever, the most deafening in the universe.

Thanks for your support and your great comments. Hear endeth the lesson.

This event was in honour of humanistic principles and the letter J.

I didn't participate, but

I didn't participate, but for some reason I never seem to get responses to my prayers. Maybe God is permanently offline?
